Hummer cam current view -

Maybe Earth Weekend? Spent time Saturday and Sunday at The Park - A little horticultural volunteer work Sat, and Sunday continuing BD/day before Earth Day spend time outdoors.

Mrs WTS coming in for landing on zipline!

Looking back to the zipline area, launch is from up in the hills.

Turn about! I can see the balloon from my house when it is at least 1/2 way up, so we checked out the house from the balloon. Much harder to see the house! Dark horizontal splotch on the foothills is an avocado grove, there are homes in the middle, we are one of them.

There is no going to The Park (not counting for work!) without stopping to see the meerkats! Too cute :)

What IS this?? It is a bit dark, only had cell phone. This guy has floppy yellow 'sideburns' and 2 spikes sticking out off chest!! What the heck? Now I have to look it up, signage was no help.

Hi cp! (from last blog) - grrr, my cams (especially hummer cam) have performance anxiety!! They have been working fine (uploading to WU) for years, now hummer cam won't upload unless it's cold and valley weather cam is color wacked!

April - from Latin Aprilis, possibly from aperire 'to open' alluding to buds and blossoms of northern hemisphere spring. Or maybe Roman/Etruscan Aphros or Apru. International Trombone Week is in April. Ah, sp is better at this than I.

Speaking of sp, hope the pain is fading - maybe it is related to hearing about a nincompoop elected official from Alaska!

March Notes

March 13 11 AM ish local
An hour after a couple of 4.6-4.7 quakes rattled the area. They were centered around Anza, near Borrego. This morning at work, I am about 75 miles away. There was a gentle bump and a bit of a rattle. Small quakes. It has been a while since we have felt any shaking.

Older notes - Spring, for the northern hemisphere, is just 3 weeks away - though today in San Diego county was much more like summer. Plenty of 80s around with lot...

It has been an excellent weekend, sunny both days - 82 Saturday almost 75 Sunday. A couple of record highs in the county, and a record high low. January Deficit

Jan 26 late afternoon,

We are just about done with the cutoff system that was off San Diego coast and has now moved to Arizona and points east. Generally, we get storms moving down the coast from the Gulf of Alaska this time of year - and there is one on the way, though it is not bringing much moisture. Anyone expecting to watch Tiger at Torrey Pines today (Saturday) - fog delay all day!
