Happy Fourth of July America

A Fourth of July Prayer
We lift up our hearts, O God, on this day of celebration
in gratitude for the gift of being Americans.
We rejoice with all those who share
in the great dream of freedom and dignity for all.
With flags and feasting, with family and friends,
we salute those who have sacrificed that we might have the opportunity to bring to fulfillment our many God-given gifts.

As we deny all prejudice a place in our hearts,
may we also clearly declare our intention to work for the time when all people, regardless of race, religion or sex, will be granted equal dignity and worth.
Come, O gracious God,
who led your children Israel from slavery, keep us free from all that might hold us in bondage.
Bless our country and join our simple celebration
that we may praise you, our Source of freedom, the One in whom we place our trust.
Amen
O beautiful for heroes proved
In liberating strife.
Who more than self their country loved
And mercy more than life!
America! America!
May God thy gold refine
Till all success be nobleness
And every gain divine!
O beautiful for patriot dream
That sees beyond the years
Thine alabaster cities gleam
Undimmed by human tears!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!
Happy Birthday to the United States of America
As we stand in the Shadows of the Greatest Generation, I dedicate this entry to them, who forged a new fire Post WW-2.
May the younger Generations look back at their time, to find focus today.

I wish some great American vocal artist of today would record the entire song.
More of those forgotten lyrics would well be brought to mind again today.
Y'all have a Happy and festive Fourth of July up your way tomorrow as well.
Been sent up, and I've been shot down
You're the best thing that we've ever found
Handle Us with care
Reputations changeable
Situations tolerable
Baby, you're adorable
Handle Us with care
I'm so tired of being lonely
I still have some love to give
Won't you show Us that you really care
Everybody's got somebody to lean on
Put your body next to our's, and dream on
I've been fobbed off, and we've been fooled
I've been robbed and ridiculed
In day care centers and night schools
Handle Us with care
Been stuck in airports, terrorized
Sent to meetings, hypnotized
Overexposed, commercialized
Handle Us with care
I'm so tired of being lonely
I still have some love to give
Won't you show Us that you really care
Everybody's got somebody to lean on
Put your body next to our's, and dream on
I've been uptight and made a mess
But I'll clean it up myself, I guess
Oh, the sweet smell of success
Handle Us with care

"Cause Dixieland, that's where I was born
Early lord one frosty morning
Look away, look away, look away Dixieland"
..."in a Big Country Dreams stay with you, Like a Lovers voice like a Mountainside...stay Alive"..
No problem!
Days like today remind us of whats truly important,
Family, country, service, Honor.
I try to capture that here, and to share.
